What are the Five Characteristics of Big Data

With the spread of the term Big Data, many large companies have become heavily dependent on Big Data as they reflect huge amounts of data that are archived, as was the case in traditional database systems. it can be analyzed for insights that lead to better decisions and strategic business moves, many organizations use big data technologies to collect, store, and analyze massive amounts of data. So here we will discuss some characteristics of big data.

Five Characteristics of Big Data

Refers to the amounts of data collected by each company, often the numbers of data are very large and estimated at hundreds of terabytes. data is generated by machines, networks and human interaction on systems like social media the volume of data to be analyzed is massive.

Refers to the various sources through which data is collected from spreadsheets and databases, and data is also included in the form of e-mails, images, video, surveillance devices, PDF files, audio.  This data may be structured or unstructured.

It deals with the pace at which data flows in from sources like business processes, machines, networks and human interaction with things like social media sites, mobile devices. Big Data flows must be analyzed and used as they stream into the organizations in order to maximize the value of the information.

It refers to the degree to which a leader trusts information in order to make a decision. Big Data Veracity refers to the biases, noise, and abnormality in data. Is the data that is being stored, and mined meaningful to the problem being analyzed. finding the right correlations in Big Data is very important for the business future.

It refers to the important feature of the data which is defined by the added value that the collected data can bring to the intended process, activity or predictive analysis/hypothesis. Data value will depend on the events or processes they represent such as stochastic, probabilistic, regular or random. Depending on this the requirements may be imposed to collect all data, store for a longer period.
